I have a 2024 GLE 350 and when I slow to below about 15 mph I hear the rear camera engaging and then closes when accelerating above 15 or so mph. This seems very strange and not normal. Before I take it in, anyone familiar?
Thanks! Our appointment is this coming week.My dealer performed this procedure on my 2024 GLE 450.
While it says it only reduced the noise, as far as I'm concerned it eliminated it completely.
I no longer hear it at all.
I can finally enjoy my new car.

I think all owners of GLE 450 should file a class action.mercedes-Benz does not have an answer and should file a lemon law claim/lawsuit
Calif Lenom Law's attorney stated that if the Mercedes service team cannot repair it after two visits, we can file.I spoke with a lemon law attorney in Minneapolis. He said it must be in the shop a minimum number of times to qualify as a lemon issue.
We should all file class actions for the following reasons.I have a 2025 GLA and have spent hours on this. As far as I have been able to determine there is no fix and MB has no plans to fix it. This is the 2nd year. People who have ridden in my car have commented that would not buy a car that made that noise. The "just the way it is" hubris did not work for GM. There probably be a class action to get their attention.
Exact same. We just bought our new gle450 and we would rather drive our 2023 bmw x6. What a waste and I’m so angry about it!Our dealership ordered sound proofing material from Amazon. Helped some but it by no means eliminates the sound.
I have an $80k vehicle in the garage that we barely drive. 🤬
YesI think all owners of GLE 450 should file a class action.
I am also talking with Lemon Law attorneys.
I had same experience with the dealer in Ca. Won’t do anything. No sound muffler, said that is NOT MB recommended/ approved.I had my car serviced for something else and brought up the clunking sound. The response waa this is “normal”. but they are aware of the problem and that a fix may be in the works but they couldn’t confirm. I asked about providing soundproofing and they said they don’t do that. I asked about the codes mentioned in this forum and they basically said you can’t trust the forum charter!
I just purchased a 2025 GLE350, and have same issue. Have you pursued a lawsuit?I think all owners of GLE 450 should file a class action.

We need a class action. MB knew the arbitration is on their sideI just purchased a 2025 GLE350, and have same issue. Have you pursued a lawsuit?
This issue with the rear camera noise is a design flaw, not something broken that has to be fixed. I just voiced the same complaint to my dealer and the rep said exaxtly what everyone else's rep says: it's how the rear camera works, and there's a sound associated with the function. I don't knkw if they will agree to try the insulation addittion or, if they do, whether that will help. But I am going to start sending letters to MBUSA, complaining. Like someone else said, if enough people complain, maybe they will eventually change it....I spoke with a lemon law attorney. He said car has to spend a certain number of days in the service department with them unable to fix it. Mercedes is saying nothing is broken, that this is normal. That is how Mercedes is getting around this.

Hard to believe that clunking sound was intentionally designed, yet that is what MB is saying and therefore it is not something that can be easily contested. It’s also not dangerous, per se, but annoying as he$& and not something seen on comparable luxury models with the same features. Buyer beware and we can all do what we can to convince people not to buy these cars. This issue with the rear camera noise is a design flaw, not something broken that has to be fixed. This “flaw” reduces the value of our cars. Completely agree. So now I am worried about what I do with this danged thing if the noise can't be fixed. Pawn it off on someone who will, in turn, hate the noise? Get the dealer to buy it back? (Good luck with that, I would imagine.)This “flaw” reduces the value of our cars. That’s the issue.
I have a 2023 GLE450 and no noise with the camera or any service issues. Wonder why they did a design change the following year. I trade every 3 years and hope that issue is resolved. The above “fix” didn’t fix mine either. My service manager said MB is throwing that out there to see if it works. “Supposedly” there is a more permanent “fix”, emphasis on my quotes, due next month. Service depts are tired of the bitching. German car sales are way down. Audios way down. They need to get this right even more than ever with the rear camera.
