Does anyone else hear the annoying noise at about 1500 rpm? Sounds like its trying to shift gears (whinney noise).

I have the 2017 and notice a pulsation at 1500-2000 rpm that drives me crazy. I have been complaining since the first week and to the dealer twice in 2 months complaining but diagnostic tests show noting wrong. I even left the car for 2 days and allowed the shop foreman to drive it home. He agreed he feels this problem (no matter what the mph, but very noticable at high speeds), but he cannot say it is a problem. 2 months old, 2000 miles and no answer.
Any one else notice this?

Has anyone gotten a dealership to perform a repair that eliminates the noise?
Our 2017 GLE350 (purchased 12/2016) has the same annoying whiny noise at about 1500 rpm - it reminds me of my daughter's 2007 Honda Civic. Dealership in Maryland said it's received similar complaints for 2016s and 2017s but MBUSA has told them to say it's "normal." Yet service techs and sales staff all agree that the noise is in most/all GLEs and shouldn't be there.

It might also help to inform Mercedes Benz USA about this or at least keep them in the loop, and just maybe they'll be able to provide some insight different from the dealer. Not always do dealers keep you well informed.

MBUSA says a lot of things are normal which is complete BS. But much like what's been going on with the GLC shuddering or crabbing or whatever, we gotta stay persistent with the complaints and then they'll really look into it.

I like to think them telling us its normal is them buying time to get to the issue. Much easier to play that round around game when there's so many variables that come into play which even have us questioning a lot before putting pressure on MB USA.

Good dealers are likely to be transparent about issues and even try things that go beyond the book or whatever guidelines they got.

That's just about it. They'll log it as complaints, say it's normal, wait for enough complaints, look into it but still say it's normal, and then figure something out and say there's now a TSB.

I can't tell you how many times I have seen people report about issues online when instead they should be going to the dealership. How it should be instead is "I found this ___________ problem with my GLE and i'm going to see my dealer today about it, will be back to report on it"

IMO these forums should act as another layer to complement the entire experience, much like what I mentioned above.

That I do agree with. But at the same time, this is all about discussion, that's why we're here. We can go to the dealership and still discuss and try to figure out our own "solutions" in our minds but none of us are actually going to work on anything.
