I bought the 2017 GLE 43 AMG last month. Brilliant Blue metallic with the ginger beige/expresso brown trim leather interior with the stitched brown dash and ash open grain wood trim.. The options are active curve and 21" wheels along with the black trim,trailer hitch and running boards. I expected the sport steering wheel to be brown to match the dash, but it seems all 43 AMG's have the dark gray/black sport steering wheel that doesn't match any part of the interior. Need to find out how to get a brown steering wheel and matching air bag center!
My other vehicles are a 2001 BMW X5 3.0 and 1972 BMW 2002. Both were bought new and are highly customized.

Would love to see your modified BMWs ! Post some photos of all of them for us to gaze at as I love older BMWs. Highly customized just means more excitement for me

2002 is a true classic. I really hope you don't plan on selling it any time soon. Only now Japanese classics are starting to rise in value which could prop up other 70's-80's classics from Europe.

I would be interested to hear your comparison of the BMW and the GLE. I had a BMW two cars ago and was just explaining to a friend that I have now owned BMW, Audi, and MB GLE. I would definitely buy another Audi. For now, I can say that I would buy another MB, but after my ownership experience I would not buy another BMW. While I think it offers the best driving experience of the three brands, the overall ownership experience was not the best and not one I am willing to repeat given the available alternatives.

May I ask as you considered the GLE what other vehicles did you look at and what sold you on the GLE? Like you, my 43 is also Blue, black interior, running boards (with lights), ventilated seats, illuminated star. How often do you go in Sport + mode?

BMW used to be good for SUV's but this was over a decade ago, ever since MB started to ramp up SUV production things have never been the same and they never will. I hate to just point out design but that alone is good enough to make me go Mercedes, BMW can't compare.
