But why would the masses care? Mercedes surely can't be that arrogant that they think they're going to conquest the big 3. Not even nissan can do that and they have the price point...

It's well known that Daimler is tied up with the Nissan-Renault Alliance. European CLA use Renault sourced diesels, they still have the stamps if you go look for them
