Brabus has had its way with the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupe, and beyond the cosmetic changes, the horsepower has been jacked up to 850 horsepower. That means that the top speed is in excess of 320 km/h.

Brabus changed nearly everything about the 5.5-liter twin-turbo engine. This includes things increasing the displacement and strapping on a number of larger turbochargers.

We know it's hard to impress you with numbers like 1,450 Nm (1,069 lb-ft) of torque, so let's express it another way. The average smart fortwo's 1-liter engine only has 91 Nm of torque (67 lb-ft), so the GLE has the equivalent of nearly 16 little cars stuffed under its bonnet.

While cornering might still be problematic, acceleration is comparable to a Ferrari F430. After reaching 100 km/h (62 mph) in only 3.8 seconds, the 850 hp monster won't stop to accept your surrender.

It may weigh as much as a hippo but what's under the hood is a beast. The 850 HP and acceleration like a Ferrari more than makes up for any cornering issues. Shouldn't be an issue at all unless you take the GLE 63 Coupe onto the track.

You bet, and that torque is enough to have A LOT of fun shuttling the kids to school and then off to work. Now we just need to see someone put it through its paces on some twisties or a track... maybe a job for Jeremy Clarkson? ;)
