Does anyone think or have experience buying/shopping for a prepaid maintenance offered by the dealer (at a higher cost obviously more than MBUSA.com) on a new GLE? I just bought a 2018 GLE 350 4matic and wondering if this plan is worth consideration and ultimately buying. Thanks for your inputs and comments.

My memory is that I was talked into one of these plans when I picked up my GLE, but looking back on it, I think it is unnecessary and BS. The car is brand new and especially for a leased car there should be no maintenance issues that you need to pay for. That is to say, the car is under warranty so anything that goes wrong should be covered by the warranty and you should not have to pay out of pocket. I have the paperwork at home somewhere; I believe my plan covers things like oil change and any potential tire issues. If I had it to do over again, I would have passed on all of it. A new car at this level should have no maintenance issues that you should have to pay for.

My feelings on prepaid maintenance are that it is well worth it - I am puzzled by the one post that states " A new car at this level should have no maintenance issues that you should have to pay for" - if you skip required preventative maintenance, you will have issues with MB with the validity of the warranty if something goes wrong.

The car has an excellent warranty but we are surely talking chalk and cheese here - you are being invited to pay upfront on preventive maintenance that MUST take place. The two are totally different issues. I chose to pay upfront for scheduled maintenance on mine. I am certain this will be cheaper than per scheduled visit billing. When the cost is diluted into my monthly payments, it is hardly noticeable.

If you skip required maintenance, you need your head examining.
