Not sure if everyone has heard of this yet, but consumer affairs says Mercedes-Benz is recalling various GLE class vehicles including 2016 GLE300d 4Matic, GLE400 4Matic, GLE350 4Matic, GLE63 AMG, GLE63 AMG Coupe, GLE63S AMG and GLE63S AMG Coupe, and 2017 GLS450 4Matic, GLE550 4Matic, and GLE63 AMG 4Matic vehicles.

There's too much bulkhead insulation which encroaches into the lower windshield area and in the event of a crash could prevent the passenger's front airbag from deploying.

I have not heard of the recall you describe, but when I took my car in for service last month I was told they would address a recall issue... I am pretty sure he said it had to do with software on the computer that would be upgraded.

I got the software update, too. It was for a condition where the vehicle may stall in certain reverse conditions if I remember correctly. The engine mapping was updated, too.

I'll be there tomorrow and ask questions.

Mercedes issued a recall for GLE 550e hybrid crossovers for a mislabeling problem. Only 64 units have the wrong tire pressure label on the B-pillar and it lists inaccurate seating capacity and front and rear tire dimension information, which can affect speedometer reading. Also it fails to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101. Dealers will inspect these vehicles and replace if necessary for free.
