We have a new 2016 GLE - less than 1500 miles on it. It has been to the shop twice already for electrical issues. First, command, ac, and all systems would shut down, then reboot and come back up- sometimes 3 or 4 times within a 5 mile ride. Warranty covered work to replace many sensors and to rewire a great many of the systems. Two weeks later, tire pressure systems disappeared and kept getting message "tire pressure sensors unavailable" or tire pressure sensors inoperable. Took it back to dealer who installed new tire pressure sensors. It is now two weeks after THAT trip, and now getting "no phone available" or getting a constant staccato sound when using phone with bluetooth enabled, so no hands free will work at all - so back to the dealer it will go. Each time, it is two or three days with a loaner and assurances they have checked everything out. Needless to say, extremely frustrated!! Anyone else having these problems???

hi,
indeed electrical problems are common. I was looking for information about this. I live in Poland and am the happy owner of a Hybrid. In Europe it is called 500e. in the us 550e. I want to share and get comment with other owners of the Hybrid (or non hybrid version) who encountered the same problems.
In my case it looks like this.
With full or partly full or empty batteries from time to time, but with regular intervals, sometimes 2 times per day, I get a red message saying the battery does not load. Strange if it is full showing 26km radius. However I do not know if it is the high voltage battery or the normal 12 volt battery. It was in the garage 2 times already and it keeps coming back. It drives normal and nothing happens. As you mentioned in your case after leaving and closing the car we get a reboot or reset of the computer and everything is normal again. However driving with the red message with not loading we get later on more problems (during driving to the dealer): Command control shuts down. So we have no Radio, Phone, GPS, etc. At the end the motor STOPS during driving!!! Imagine: no power steering in a 2500 kg car. I was luckily to get safe off the road. All control lights go on etc. And after a few minutes we got back in the car and everything worked normal.
In my opinion it is not normal. Some other GLE and ML owners had the same. So I am sure it is not only the Hybrid version having this problem.
I want to confront Mercedes about this. I drove 18.000 km (11.000 miles) and have been in the garage several times without any success.
Please commend and share your experiences.

hi,
In the US the law is indeed much better. For example the Volkswagen scandal. You got billions over there. Here in Europe those who bought the ECO diesels got nothing up till now and it looks like they get never ever anything.
About my car indeed it will end up after a few times they have to come up with a solution. A new car in the end is a fact. But a long way to go. I looked here in Europe but the hybrid is very special so I look everywhere sine they are made in North America.

I have a GLE 450AMG as well. I had the same issue with the Tire Pressure Monitoring system and took it into the dealer. They replaced it. I have also had this other issue occur a few other times. While using the COMAND system on Sirius XM Satellite radio, it would freeze and not respond randomly. I called the MBRACE support and as told to just hold down the power button and that forces a reset. The last issue i had was with the rear drivers side shock. I kept hearing a noise as if something was hitting the car. When I took it into the dealer, they said it was odd that it went out that quickly so they replaced it. Now I am just waiting to see if Mercedes will provide a software update to include Android Auto as it seems they are only including it in 2017 models.

Update on 2016 GLE - Back at the dealer for the fourth time since August. This time the massage/lumbar initially did not work on the driver side - not what you want to discover on a road trip! Took it in - dealer replaced module for driver side seat and reprogramed the computer piece. Then, dealer is checking it out before returning it to me and discovers that now the passenger side seat does not work. Once again, we are waiting on parts to replace that side. Dealer has had the car for 5 days now with no end in sight. Every time they fix one thing, something else goes wrong. The ONLY upside is I am in a MB GLC for a loaner. I am now asking dealer about ongoing electrical issues we have had. Dealer keeps insisting each of these problems is "stand alone" and it is a coincidence that every problem we have had seems to be electrical or computer driven. I am quickly losing my patience at this point. The car has only 8,000 miles on it and is less than a year old!! I am thinking the next problem we have (and I have no doubt there will be a next problem at this point) perhaps I should try a different MB dealer and see if we get a different answer/result. Thoughts??

My thoughts on this... seems like you got a lemon. You have electrical gremlins that are just messing with you way too often. I would ask them if there's anything they can do to stick you in a new one or something.
