Tuning appears to be quite possible and exciting when it comes to the Mercedes GLE 63 AMG, and German tuning house Wheelsandmore is part of the group of tuning houses that is proving that. Wheelsandmore has comprehensively upgraded the engine and wheels of the GLE 63 AMG, transforming it into a beast of a vehicle. The exterior and interior of the vehicle have been left stock though, as is the tradition of this tuning house.
When it comes to the exterior of the vehicle, the only visible change is the addition of racing stripes. The interior remains completely untouched, but the true value of this custom GLE is the work done to the wheels and the engine.
The stock wheels have been replaced by 22-inch ultralight forged multi-piece 6Sporz². The brand also offers Ultra-concave F.I.W.E. wheels are available with the program. Customers are also offered the ability to customize their wheels with the choice of several different colors and surfaces. Tire sizes remain standard, 285/40/22 at the front of the vehicle and 325/35/22 at the back of the vehicle. Wheelsandmore gives the option of choosing wider forged rims that measure 10 inches at the front and 12.5 inches at the back as well.
The engine modifications are where things get really exciting though. The engine has seen many additions: special beared turbochargers, downpipes with sport catalysts, special F1 filters and valve-flap controlled sport exhaust system. It was also modified through a dyno-optimized ECU remap.
All of that work resulted in an increase of 433 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. That brings the total horsepower up to 800 and the torque up to 848 lb-ft. That will get the Wheelsandmore GLE 63 AMG from 0-62 mph in 3.9 seconds, 1.8 seconds faster than the stock model. The top speed has also increased to 186 mph, though that is only because the electronic speed limiter was increased. The new limit is 31 mph faster than the stock limit.
Pricing for the Wheelsandmore tuning program is only available on request and is also variable due to different options. Hopefully the tuning house will deliver some slight modifications for the interior and exterior in the future, just to give that visual signal that this GLE 63 AMG is not like the others.
