Hi guys - Jay here. Just got my new WHITE 2016 GLE and the collision prevention light is DORMANT. When I first test drove it (another color) the triangle would make the noise at least once during my drive. Now my current one, it doesn't light up or even brakes if I get really close to an obstacle. Also, when I tested this, I went ahead and disabled it to see if the "OFF" icon with the two cars would show, and DIDN'T. So the question is, is this normal? Shouldn't it give me an alert if there are issues with it? The only time I have seen these two little lights are when the car starts - thats it.
Let me know. Thanks!!!

I've noticed on mine. The system won't warn or alert you once you tap the Brake or the speed is below 45mph. I have test it out on one of the curves road I travel on every day with is a huge sign right before the sharp turn? If I drive below 45mph or I tap the brake right before the turn; there won't be any alerts. I have tried the most crazy way with *gunning your car toward the car in front of you that is making a left turn. The system Do Alert you with sound and flashing triangle;but mine won't stop because I didn't get the safe plus :-/.

Hope this helps.

*Disclaimer: I do not advise anyone to test it this way.

I got a warning light--Collision Prevention Assist Plus- Inoperative

11 June 2016 after purchasing my new 2016 GLE from a dealer in Texas, who I have purchased 5 other cars in the past years, and driving the 60 miles to my home, the message center on my dash board lit up like a Christmas Tree with the following warning: “Collision Prevention Assist Plus Inoperative”. I took a picture of the screen with my i-phone then called my salesman. He said he would pass it to the concierge but no one contacted me. I waited until 11:00 on Monday to hear from the service department but no one called so I called and made an appointment for Wednesday 15 June 2016 at 08:15.

They tried twice to fix it, once replacing just the module and then the whole sub-assembly. It still doesn't work and they don't know why.

Still waiting. The car has been in for repairs more days then I have had an opportunity to drive it.

Very unhappy with MB.

Update. After car was at the dealer for 7 days they finally figured out the issue. Cars that have Driver Assistance Package require two sensors located behind the front grills, cars like mine that do not have the Divers Assistance Package only need one for the the Collision Assist Prevention Plus to operate properly. At the factory they installed two. MB quality control must be bad if they didn't catch something as simple as this. They also forgot to install the Wheel Locking Bolts that were on the build sheet. I asked the dealer about the Wheel Locking Bolts and they will have to order them.

I just got the "Collision Prevention Assist Inoperative" message too.
Thanks for the solution. I will mention it next time I'm in for servicing.
