Currently on 22k miles with my 300d.

On the second set of tyres with about 2mm left.
Has anyone had similar issues with Continental tyres and have you changes to a different make that lasts longer?

You haven't really told us what tires you have...
But based on the dimensions and the W speed rating, I'm going to assume it's the: Conti SportContact 5

This particular tire gets pretty good reviews, as far as treadware goes.
In other words, you likely won't find a comparable performance tire that lasts much longer than this one.

Based on the low milage, I would submit that there has to be more going on here...
Either your vehicle is poorly aligned, or your driving style is wearing them out prematurely.

I have the Conti Extreme Contact DWS tire on my SL550 - 8K miles and they look like new. My daughter has Contis on her GLK350 - over 40K before replacing them. I'd say Contis wear pretty good.
