Android Auto Update

I contacted my dealer for mine as well and was told there might be an update. The sales rep said she spoke with one of the techs and he mentioned that if the USB port in the arm rest doesnt need to be changed, then it will just be a software update. I have been bugging them for the past 2 months now.

Yes in theory it should be that easy but when I call my dealer they keep saying it had to be installed at the factory. I don't see why a software update can't be made.
