Hi Everyone: looking at the 2021 GLE 350 and wondering if anyone finds the engine underpowered. Tested the X5 and Range Rover Sport and liked the MB the best (although we tested the 450). We have a performance car so looking for luxury and space in this one. Coming off a 2013 X3 28i whose engine blew up (seemingly a frequent issue). We'd the SUV just to commute to the cottage and back and maybe some light towing. Thanks in advance!

Just got my factory order 2021 GLE last month and have been using it for a month now. I dont think it is under powered. It all depends which car are you comparing it with. I also have a BMW 528i and i feel they both are quite similar in power. One difference though. There is not much difference if we switch to the sport mode here with my GLE whereas on the other hand the 528i gave a real boost to the power when shifted to the sport mode. well my bmw came with the M power added feature. Dont know if that made the difference

However the GLE 350 is NOT a race track vehicle and does exactly what it is designed for. I have driven many SUVs in that category and find it to be similar in power if not better.
You mentioned about light towing. I guess the GLE 350 should be ok but you might wanna spend some more $$$ and consider the 450

I was on the fence with the 4 vs 6, when making my selection. I tested drove the 4 cylinders and felt it much more powerful then my 2019 GLE350 V6 (3.5). Not sure it it was in sport mode or not during the test drive. I ended up with the 4 cylinders and what was in stock and not wait for the "next" shipment. I don't think anyone can tell when they are driving it. It's the unconscious mind that will haunt you. Anyhow, I loved the mpg with the 4; I'm getting 23/27mpg vs the v6 giving me 18/22mpg.
