2017 gle350 4matic

The ATA (anti-theft alarm) system indicator lamp does not come on or flash when the alarm is activated. Has anyone had experience with this issue? The dealership does not have an answer. Page 72 of the Owners Manual clearly states how the warning light is activated; would certainly like to find a solution?
