Mercedes-Benz has released the pricing information on the brand new 2016 GLE-Class crossover. It will start at $52,025 which is a $2,800 increase in price over the 2015 Mercedes-Benz M-class that it is replacing. That price also includes the $925 destination charge.
The GLE can be thought of as a heavily revised ML. It has new head lamps, front fender, front and rear bumpers, and LED tail lamps. It also has a redesigned cabin. Along with these changes the GLE-Class will also come with more standard equipment than the ML. This is most likely why there has been a significant bump in the price.
The US will see 7 different version of the GLE-Class. The base GLE350 will start at $52,025. There is then the all-wheel drive GLE 4MATIC which will be priced from $54,525.
Mercedes-Benz will be offering two high performance GLEs. There is the GLE63 AMG priced from $100,875, and the GLE63 S AMG priced from $108.025.
The GLE300d 4MATIC is a diesel variant of the GLE. It will start at $53,425.
Finally, there is a plug-in hybrid/electric model, the GLE550e 4MATIC. That variant has not been priced yet and will arrive in early September.
The GLE-Class is due to arrive in US showrooms in early August.
