Following the release of the 2016 GLE 450 AMG 4MATIC Coupe earlier this year, Mercedes-Benz is now unveiling the SUV version: the 2016 GLE 450 AMG 4MATIC SUV.

The third new model in the Mercedes-AMG lineup, the GLE 450 will be offered with the same powertrain as its coupe sibling, a biturbo 3.0L V6 with 367 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque. Power will go to all four wheels via a nine-speed transmission, and will be split 40:60 with a bias to the rear wheels to enhance handling.

Top speed is rated at 155 mph and Mercedes claims a zero-to-62-mph time of just 5.7 seconds. The SUV, like the coupe, will also come with five driving modes: Individual, Comfort, Slippery, Sport and Sport+.
Standard with the GLE 450 is AIRMATIC air suspension, variable adaptive damping system, and automatic level control. The SUV also comes with some more aggressive body panels, dual chromed tail pipes, 20-inch five-spoke wheels, and exclusive trim.

Technology in the GLE 450 SUV includes adaptive braking, attention assist, collision prevention assist, start-stop, pre-safe and crosswind assist. Optional features include Distronic Plus adaptive cruise control, driving assistance package, and climatized front seats.

Fuel economy should come in in 38.2 mpg combined.

After let the car sits for little while then i start the car, shift to drive or reverse there is a lound clunk noise. I do not understand why they are introducing a GLE 450 SUV if it will soon to be replaced/renamed as GLE 43 AMG:confused::confused:

Unless.... MB plans to introduce GLE and GLE coupe 43 in a year or two with the E43 engine.

Because SUVs are popular right now and they're hoping to draw some of those buyers in. If they're introducing it just recently, then it won't be replaced by the GLE 43 AMG. Maybe keep both in their lineup.
It is already confirmed by Mercedes Benz that all the 450 AMG line will be replaced by 43 AMG. They already started with the 2017 E43 AMG.
