Mercedes GLE cloned in China

Just wanted to share some of these pictures of the hilariously awful Chinese replicas. I do like that they are running on pure electric powertrains, but surely they don't think anyone's convinced they are a MB product. They are powered by a 73 volt, 4,000 watt electric motor that should provide 6-8 hours of use on a full charge. According to their official website, prices start from $3,900. Thoughts?

Yikes! What is the point of these replicas? How can they be sold? Who would buy one? Doesn't China have or enforce ANY laws on patents, copyright, or intellectual property?

I think unfortunately there are just too many knocks off in China to properly enforce copyright laws. And I would imagine that whoever is designing them makes them in a limited supply and off loads them as quickly as possible. No idea who would buy it, as I imagine build quality is quite poor and I doubt they meet safety standards.

The biggest concern here is how unsafe and unfit for the road those products are. Rogue companies like that don't have anywhere near the billions required or the structure of real established brands. Seeing NHTSA type testing would help.

I doubt this company has seen many sales, if any as these may very well be the first models of their kind. I can almost guarantee if there were any number of these on the road, that MB would be putting a stop to production.
