I bought my wife a 2016 a few years ago for Mother's Day. She has absolutely loved that car. We have taken it on several long trips and I find it more comfortable than my E550. It has a very nice ride in every mode available. The only issue from my perspective, and this is just a personal preference, the wet/slick road mode feels like it retards throttle response and dampens brake response a little too much for my liking. The sport mode is very responsive and tighter than any other vehicle I have driven with the exception of the Raptors we had at work. For a smaller SUV it does have good ground clearance. The fit and finish were very good and even after several years it does not have a single rattle anywhere.
Up until this week we had not experienced a single issue with the vehicle. All of the idiot lights on the instrument cluster came on and nothing we did extinguished them. The dealer recommended a battery test and sure enough it had a dead cell. Our dealer did not have an OEM batt in stock and said they were on back order as of 3 weeks ago and they had no idea when they would be getting one. I decided to replace it myself and this was slightly challenging. The battery is located under the front passenger seat and has the rear floor vents on top of it underneath the carpet. Getting it out was a challenge due to the cramped quarters, lack of leverage and the size of the compartment. I bought a new one from Autozone which was the only one they showed fit that model. After getting it home and trying to get it back in the compartment it was not fitting. A comparison of the two showed the new battery was 1.5 inches longer than the OEM and that makes a world of difference. I did manage to source a battery of similar dimensions but that did nothing for the idiot light issue. This batt slid right in with only a few slight twists and some manipulation of the duct tape that I had to use to keep one end up. The dealer today told us that if you replace with other than an OEM batt you have to hook up a code reader and tell the computer you are changing batteries before you disconnect the bad one. After he did that the idiot lights went out and it was just a matter of inputting all the convenience settings back to where they were. If that is the worst problem we ever have with the vehicle I will take it and run.
